REPAIR SERVICE means that you need to send us your old defective board that we shall attempt to diagnose, service and test to the best of our knowledge prior to charging you and returning it back

In a nutshell if you measure low bi-directional resistance over any pair of smd capacitors that are in connected in series to the pair of 22 Ohm resistors (marked "220") located near each buffer IC then your buffer board has failed and needs repair.
Of course most often when that happens you can also see holes in the ICs themselves - one or more of them.
This repair service is for restoring up to two failed ICs on a board. Replacing more is not cost efficient and in addition carries too much risk.
IMPORTANT NOTE 1: Presently Coppell TV Repair LLC does NOT have the ability to test this board in a live TV set. This means we are not going to be 100% certain the board works on neither on the way in nor on the way back.
However, based on a very solid experience with very simlar boards we believe we have a fairly good shot at restoring the board. We are simply open and upfront about the situation to allow you make an informed decision.
Still, until we are able to test the boards we recommend that you leave this service as a last resort.
IMPORTANT NOTE 2: This service comes at a fixed price and includes replacement of up to 2 ICs on the board. At 2 ICs we break even and at more we lose money and the procedure is not worth performing.
If your board has more than 3 bad ICs consider buying a replacement instead and if you do not know how many bad ICs the board has you'll only pay us $10 plus return S&H to get the board back without the already taken out ICs.
IMPORTANT NOTE 3: We offer NO WARRANTY on any buffer board repairs, with our without abillity to test them! This is for the simple reason that the majority of ICs remaining on the board after service would still be old and worn out, thus being prone to failure at any given moment.
We'd work with customers to address issues of our own work (e.g. missing line / cold solder etc.), but for any buffer failures and smoking we just can not afford to give warranty.
On other repairs we do we can make, at customer's request, a video of the board working in a live set, but for blind repairs we can't even do that...so be advised and decide if you want to take the risk!
Typical processing time for the repair is within two business days; if we have any probems that require more time (be it overload or technical problems) we will contact you with an update and request for more time.
We have a fairly high success ratio, but we still do not guarantee success; if we can't get the board to work, though, you will not need to pay.
Presently we do not charge in advance for repair services.
Instead, once the board(s) are received, tested, found to be defective, serviced and tested again to success we send a payment request to the customer.
If something along the process - such as unexpected difficulty or finding a board to be functional - arises we contact the customer via email and/or phone and disscuss options.
Minimal charge / diagnostic fee
If a board arrives and is determined to be functional (no shortages/faulures) we charge $10 testing fee and the return S&H cost unless customer points out which specific ICs they want replaced, subject to the rest of conditions and limitations in this offering.
We ask that the board arrives here in good physical condition and without traces of tampering. If someone (other than us, that is) has already attempted to service the board then please contact us with a description/pictures and do not directly place an order. We reserve the right to refuse service to boards that have signs of repair attempts.
